Learning and Teaching

At Holy Spirit School our Learning and Teaching Program aims to enhance the dignity of each student through encouraging all to reach their full potential.

We believe in the importance of explicit teaching of the foundational knowledge and skills that will enable further learning. We believe that students need the right support for learning; therefore, we aim to differentiate learning according to the students’ individual abilities and needs.

Through an inquiry approach to learning we aspire to: engage students, develop essential skills and encourage students to have a voice in the direction of their learning. We aim to develop the skills that promote deeper learning and will allow students to be curious, creative and adaptive thinkers, skilled researchers and effective collaborators.

Our program is informed by current best practices, reflective of research in the field of education, underpinned by the Religious Education Frameworks (Archdiocese of Melbourne) and The Victorian Curriculum.
